This car looks terrible with low profile tires. I've always been a fan of the cheap black rims with big snow tires for winter.
Ill be doing just that tomorrow! on my way to buy a lightly used set of Blizzak WS70 215/55/17 from a guy on Craigslist then will get a set of 17inch steelies for them to go on:) total cost for my winter wet up will be less than 400$

Ill post pictures of the car with my winter set up around October... My xv is gonna be an unstoppable tank this winter:)

Agreed. The cool thing about the XV, and what sets it apart from its peers, is that it has an off-road, dune buggy-like aesthetic. It isn't trying to be a Lexus RX, BMW X5, etc. To each their own, of course, but I think when swapping out the stockers, you should try to maintain that unique XV quality. Why they even put an ounce of chrome on these cars is beyond me.

Anyone want to photoshop some 2013 outback wheels on the crosstrek?
here ya go, these are 16" steel wheels with hubcap off a '13 Outback. These are an inch taller than the stock 17s. I've been off road with them and love the taller side wall. My speedo is actually reading closer than stock but my odometer is off about 8%. When my speedo says 70 MPH, my GPS says 71.5 MPH. I may paint the steel wheels gold and mount some BFG T/A KOs.

^^ Need a close up from the side and I'd also like to see one along the side from the front or rear to see how the tires sit in relation to the side of the car. Does the car handle differently or ride differently with the different offset?
