Try pulling the fuse to the head unit for a few minutes and see if that resets the HU to display properly. Sometimes a complete loss of power miraculously fixes things. If not, your least expensive option might be finding an identical HU at a salvage/junk yard s as an OEM unit would not require any modifications. I haven't heard of Subaru HU screens going pink so a used HU might be worth a shot.

My radio display all of a sudden turned pink, grainy and very dark. It was fine when I turned the car off and when I turned it back on pink screen. The back up camera is the same. Everything currently still works but just not easily seen. The dealer said that I need a whole new radio, that mine is going out. They want $1,500 just for the radio, not including install. This isn't even a great system, no navigation. I've searched online and can't find anything about a pink screen. Has anyone else had this issue?

I don't want to spend $1,500 for a system without navigation. If the radio really is going out what are my aftermarket options?

I've had my car 2 years, how do you do system updates, or is that even a thing for cars? My computer and phone get updates all the time, it seems like the car would also?

The video cable might have came loose or stopped working. I'm guessing the HU might need taken apart to see if the cable coming from the screen is ok.
