What to upgrade next

I absolutely LOVE how you've modded your Crosstrek! The most bad-a$$ 'trek I've seen IMO.

If you're looking for suggestions about what to do next, might I recommend adding a bull bar to complete the aggressive look.

Keep up the great work and happy off-roading!
+1 on what he said... Go for a bull bar and a lift kit. If you can custom fabricate brackets for your lights, can you custom fabricate universal brackets for bullbars? I think the problem for the Crosstreks are a lack of fitting brackets that would allow it to adapt to all of the available options of bullbars.

Not really an off-road mod, but something I have been wanting to do for a while...

Spare tire is useless since I have the larger mud terrain tires, so I asked myself "how could I better use that space?"
I had to build a platform to raise the sub off the floor as the spare tire compartment is shallower than I expected. I then built a raised platform over the sub so I could still use my cargo area without crushing the speaker. The sub and amp I got for free from a friend when we upgraded the subs in his truck. The wood was free scraps from old projects. The wiring kit I purchased off eBay for $24. The six-pack of beer was $9... So, three hours, $33 and a little buzzed later, it is all set except the Line Out Converter which I was a little too "relaxed" to remove the head unit without risking damage.

What do you guys think?

That new spare tire looks tiny... j/k

Nice work! Not sure how strong that sub is, but you could always add some foam around the edge of the wood if it ends up rattling ilke crazy against the metal in the trunk. It might not need any, but the foam might also help the sub perform better having a "sealed" enclosure. I dunno though...

Do you carry a tire plug kit, and compressor? I'm still trying to decide if I want to get a full-size spare when I upgrade wheels and tires down the road. Mostly for long road trips.

Where did you go through the firewall?
I fell into a small sub set up like you, figured what the hell. I have it all prepped, just need to run the wires.
I'm putting my amp under the passenger seat. My sub is in a small box.
I keep all my emergency supplies where the spare was, including a compressor. My full size spare rides up top in my basket until I get a rear folding tire carrier.

Up in the black box on my roof I keep a plug kit and I have a full size spare at home. . . And AAA so I really the kit is just to get me out off the woods to someplace I can get towed home.

If you pull the left front wheel splash guard. Behind the fender is a large rubber grommet. It is about here:

It is actually really easy to reach:

I made a tiny hole with a pick (being sure not to damage any of the wires in the area) and forced the amp wire through. The grommet made a great seal around the wire.

Great day off!!!

Went muddin' and installed a sub... watched Seven "what's in the box?" and ate a sub... tinkered with the Olds and relaxed with a hot grill, cold beer and fresh veggies from the garden (on really unhealthy burgers)...

If today was my last day.... I would be OK with it..... That said, I hope to have many, MANY more days like this in the future.

LOL, just remembered what one of my friends said... "All those guys with roof baskets and they're empty or they have one tire up there. You should put a set of ATV tires in your basket, just for laughs." I totally should have grabbed an ATV tire and put it in the back before I installed the sub... taken a picture and been like, "I couldn't afford a FULL-sized spare." hahaha

We've been in a drought out this way... Today was the first rain in weeks so I hit the biggest mud hole I could find (about 20 feet long, 8 feet wide and maybe, just maybe 7 inches deep) I tried so hard to wallow like a pig but there's only so much a man can do when mother nature tries to stop you.

Here's a brand new 2016 Crosstrek that a local dealer had customized themselves to sell. It's got a 2" lift.

They're talking about doing more.

I'm seriously thinking about having them do mine.
