Does anyone know if the original Subaru TPMS sensors will swap over to a generic steel wheel like the one Tire Rack sells?

@Lumpy Waters: The TPMS sensor should be able to swap to just about any rim. Are you looking to change out permanently or what is your reason for the new wheels? I did the steel wheels for off-road use only and I didn't bother to put TPMS in them. The warning light comes on, the car sends me an email saying tire pressure is low and then I ignore it for the weekend. When I put the stock wheels back on the system registers their presence within about 5 minutes and the light goes back off.

It just didn't seem economical to get a cloned set of TPMS for off-roading (and you may not be doing this same thing) when I'm probably going to drop tire pressure intentionally when I leave the pavement.

I was under the impression that oem TPMS sensors might not fit all aftermarket rims, but I'm not really sure where I got that idea. I'm thinking of going to simple 16" rims with BFG AT KO all terrain tires, but they'd most likely be on the Crosstrek full time. I really like the idea of a separate set of offroad wheels but I don't see always having the time or advanced planning to swap out wheel sets before needing them. Usually, I'm also camping when I'm offroading and sometimes I barely have the time to pack up the camping gear the evening before heading out for a quick weekend.
