There's a very cool site called auto-brochures.com, that archives PDF copies of each year's full set of brochures from major car manufacturers ... a car geek can spend hours there. Just out of curiosity, I pulled up the 2014 Crosstrek brochure, and as best I can tell the photos in it are all completely accurate. (There's one photo of a center console MFD, but only on the Hybrid page, which of course did have an MFD.)

The only thing I wish, it's the defrost auto activate when it is under 7'c outside and via by a start remote. Right now, it only warms up the engine but when i get into the car.. I had press the defrost button and wait another 5min to defrost my mirrors and windows...

This is kind of a kludge but it works. If you anticipate needing the rear defrost you can wedge a strip of plastic between the button and the ring to hold the button in.
I used a bookmark but I imagine an old key tag will work. It might need to be made narrower to fit in.
Just press button and push in the strip.
