Two weeks ago I ordered the 2023 Crosstrek Limited in icy silver metallic. I’ve never ordered a car before and this is beyond exciting for me. It’s so hard waiting for the call to let me know when it arrives. I had my last car 15 years so I have no idea how to drive her home! I hope to get a lesson before hitting the road home. I think I’m more excited to be able to find it in a parking lot because my current key fob doesn’t have any button to active the horn or lights. Hopefully you can teach an old dog a few new tricks!

Welcome!

I'm a wee bit further down life's timeline than you and I found that the Crosstrek does have a longer-than-brief learning curve, mostly due to EyeSight riding shotgun with you. But I self-confess to being technology-challenged.

Seriously, while you're axiously waiting for "the call", take a gander at the Owner's manual, the EyeSight manual and the Multimedia System manual (all available as PDF downloads) to get an idea of the complexities incorporated into the Crosstrek. Then also download the Quick Reference Guide for the rudimentaries of how to operate your new Crosstrek.

Congratulations on reaching the milestone 6-5 birthday and your new car purchase. I am sure you will enjoy it.

To commemorate my 50th year of LICENSED driving last year, I purchased a new 2021 Sport. I have owned many used & new vehicles since the 1970s, but none with the level of technology the 2021 Sport has. Thankfully I am a retired IT professional and a fast learner. My only problem now is remembering I need to take the key out of my pocket to start my other vehicle. :)

Similar situation here. After a VW Golf Diesel for 20 years... in 2018 bought the Crosstrek. Driving it was no issue, and the safety features (that the Golf never had) automatically kick in when needed. Of course, the manual is a good read to know what those features are, and what indicator lights up. Of course, with the new tech of CarPlay, radio settings, volume settings the manual was a must.
