I had Subaru owners all wrong in my mind.

I thought they were all kind of the laid-back type of people.

MSN hates my privacy/security centric browser setup, so I can't see the article.

What is the date on publish on the article? This could be another instance where Google or Bing is serving up an older article as if it's "new news", happens all the time, their increasingly encrapified engines get worse and worse at knowing when to prioritize by date vs by content.

Hell no!! Aside from posting our insecurities about being labeled as part of a certain 'group', we get all kinds of village idiots, hustlers, hippies, brainiacs, macho, off roader, comedic, shade tree mechanics, know-it-alls just like any other vehicle owners group. And apparently...customers willing to go above and beyond to take a stand with a dealership :ROFLMAO:

There are exceptions to every stereotype. Or as one friend of mine once pointed out, a-holes come in all flavors and are sprinkled all over the earth.

That being said, this is probably the most civil forum I belong to. Not sure if that fits the Subaru stereotype.

Better to be an a-hole than whole-a (y)
I like to think of myself as a hemorrhoid...pain in the @$$ and hard to get rid of :p
I agree this particular group is very 'low key' or 'vanilla' compared to other forums I belong to. Those others I would describe as a snowflake free zone with no safe spaces :giggle: But it's amazing how even in those 'rougher' environments/forums, information still gets passed along and shared among members?? They must be more laid back or tolerable than the XV members here IMO

I saw this a while ago. MSN is just now covering it?
A search revealed this occurred last December 10 or 11, 2024 at a Mazda dealership. The angry driver was informed of the "as is" sale of the used OB and required repairs and inspection. No mention of the OB price.

I'm guessing this wasn't a Subaru buyer but a person needing wheels immediately and didn't heed the dealer's suggestions.

So the question still remains...did he get his money back for the car?? :ROFLMAO:

Without knowing this guy's mental history prior, you gotta kind of wonder how bad the situation and the dealer were for someone to get THIS triggered?? Not condoning his actions, but more curious on the other side of the story and what possible shenanigans were pulled by the dealer to get a customer of theirs to snap??

I also would be curious how this incident has helped or hindered this dealership's trustworthiness and sales??:giggle:

As someone who worked in NYC for more than three decades, I have seen all kinds of irrational actions by people. This includes on bus rides, subways and restaurants. I have see bus drivers and waiters threatened. Some people don't need very much to get triggered. IMO, when a customer becomes even verbally abusive, they have crossed the line at that point and the merchant owes them nothing except an ejection from the establishment.
