Non-adaptive cruise control DOES work when Eyesight doesn't. I know because I got the same error: so as I was bumming out over the prospect of visiting the dealership under warranty I tested the cruise control on the highway. Plain-old cruise control works just fine. You can happily rear-end the car in front of you without the pesky warning chime or the car braking to eliminate or minimize impact. The good news is Eyesight returned. The bad news is I have no idea if/when the "Eyesight Disabled" error will happen again.
I was wondering about losing Eyesight and plain CC. You answered it! (y)

My Eyesight randomly went away and returned on its own in the first summer weather last year when I bought it. My personal guess is from inside humidity. Defrost with outside air seemed to allow Eyesight return in less than a few blocks. Other days, I turned on ac to help dehimidify Eyesight cameras.

While returning to NYC from a day trip at Gore Mtn ski area, we encountered snow squalls turning into near whiteout conditions on the NYS interstate. The dashed highway lines disappeared with only the solid white lines visible on right and left sides. Eyesight went away but returned when the snow squall stopped when dashed highway lines reappeared.

2024 outback. Eyesight permanently off now for no reason. The big bummer is this also disables cruise control. Cruise control has been ion cars way longer than eyesight which really could care less about except for this.
Under warranty, go to your dealer to address Eyesight failure, if it remains disabled. They may have their scantool to check for historical records that aren't displayed by generic readers.

In very hot weather today, NYC; Eyesight decided to drop out on its own. It came back, on its own after a few minutes. Ac running non stop, no discernible humidity inside (fog, moisture on windows). I'm guessing the very hot Eyesight electronics is 'sweating' from high hot temps from infrared heat. After a drive, I stopped by my favorite 7-11 for..... hot hazelnut coffee to enjoy in my ac cooled XTrek Sport. Eyesight is HOT! But it's enabled while sitting, parked, as I reply on my tablet.

I just got my first Eyesighterror code on my Premium. It said, “Eyesight not available; check the manual.” I cleaned my window, and still there. However, this morning the error was gone for like 15 minutes and came back. I will bring it to the dealership and have it checked this weekend.

I just came back from the dealer’s service. The technician said the Eyesight was out of calibration. He needs to adjust it. It is good now.

Maybe my car is the first 2024 that has this problem. :):):)
Bought my 2024 Crosstek in November 2023. Same error eyesight error message just popped up then goes away. Have a call into the dealership but definitely an issue since it affects other functions. Not happy.

I have about 1,509milrs on a 2024 Cross Trek. The White print Eyesight Disabled notice popped up, and has done do more times, almost every day, since the first occurrence. I will have to make a Service Appointment to have it checked and fixed. This feels like a recall issue, to me

At 800 miles my first “eyesight disabled” message appeared. I waited a few days and watched as it went in and out of service intermittently for no apparent reason. I got it serviced/calibrated and the dealership said it should not be an issue again. A month later with less than 2000 miles the same problem happened again. I honestly do not like the eyesight system or the fact that it is acting up. I bought a new car to not have the car in and out of the shop. Two trips to the dealer by September for a car purchased in late July does not inspire confidence in my purchase. The fact that the eyesight working properly can have serious implications does warrant possible enactment of the lemon law here in California.
2022 Crosstrek Limited (20k) with Eyesight and Blind spot disabled. Diagnosed with a corroded wire from moisture getting to it. No part available-car sitting in the shop. Thought my car problems would be over with a new car. Glad I didn’t buy it!

EyeSight's repeated "disabling" just led to my brakes suddenly failing the other day. I can't WAIT to see what excuse or minimizing my dealer does for this issue that was extremely frightening and ridiculously dangerous.
Let the loss of trust in ( my first) Subrau begin!

Could you elaborate? How did it happen?
