I'm not sure what exact XV Crosstrek model and year you got. If yours has got the high grade MFD then it can be done. I guess if it has the keyless entry it should have the HGMFD. See the Owner's manual

 

here's clearer instructions on ridding the beep:

while sitting in car with all doors shut hold down unlock button on driver's door.
insert and remove key from ignition six times under 10 senconds.
open and shut driver's door after doing the key thing under 10 seconds.
no more beep beep bee beep!

Is it me, or is the question about shutting off the beep on the KEYLESS ENTRY ? How do we put the key in and out of the ignition six times if we don't have a KEY?

 

Keyless entry is different from keyless ignition. The question remains for the latter though.

 

Oh, I too have keyless entry with push button start and hate the beeping ( and so does my dog) . I got excited when I saw that it could possibly be turned off, but was let down when I saw the need to put a key in and out of the ignition.

 

Don't you guys read the manual at all? Even when hinted? Section 3-79 of 2015 Owners Manual.

 

Section 3-79 is only for the Multi-Function Display, which the U.S. models don't have (Ref 3-42). With the key-less entry system there is no way to perform the ignition key trick either (Ref 2-26). The manual does say that a Subaru dealer can change setting, which appears to be the only recourse in this situation (Ref 2-26).

 

I normally only read the manual to find something I want. If somebody else want's something, I figure they can look. I'll look up something for somebody else if it's interesting enough though.

So what is the fix? My trusty dealer did not include a manual for my car when I bought it....I have to go back and get one.

 

My bad then. I thought I saw a picture of a 2015 Limited with HGMFD, but that might have been a Hybrid. Sorry for the confusing info.

 

I guess I'll have to make the dealer do it. I've been wondering this too.
