Auto Climate Controls with OEM Remote Start

To begin, I know I have read this somewhere at some point in the last two months, but I cannot find it anywhere. I've searched my manual, this site, among other online resources but cannot find it again:

I have a MY15 Limited with the automatic climate controls and the OEM remote start. What I'm curious about is the operation of the "All-Weather" defrosters such as below the windshield wipers, the side mirrors, and the rear defroster. Are these items supposed to engage when started below a certain temperature? I thought that somewhere I read that the defrosters come on below 47 degrees, but don't specifically recall if it was the front windshield defroster, or all of them.

Has anyone seen this written down? Does anyone have the remote start on the Limited and can chime in on how it's supposed to work? BTW, I do have my dials set to "Auto".

I think you have to press the defrost button. I don't think its automatic but someone may prove me wrong. I don't have remote start so I have to actually walk outside, crank it, turn the first knob all the way to the right and press it in the center as well. This defrosts the windshield and everything else.

I suggest changing the settings to the above so when you auto start in the morning, everything will be warmed up. (For the winter season obviously. )

You have to press the rear window defrost button to heat those areas. I have had no trouble with windshield or front windows fogging when leaving the heater controls on auto. I have seen the AC light go on in cold weather, indicating the automatic controls have selected a defrost mode. That would indicate to me the sensors read temperature and humidity. I have had the rear window fog so I'm confident the rear window defroster element is not part of the automatic control. I'm very pleased with the auto heat and fan settings. I never felt the need to play with them and they car the comfort level up faster than I was able to manually on my old Impreza. It's so nice not to have to play with comfort controls beyond pressing a button if the rear window, mirrors or wipers need attention.
