Crazy Right! Then 2. I don't drive the vehicle for a couple days and my Apple Carplay is disconnected? I have to go into the menus and turn it back on? WHY?? 3. A Number of times my Spotify freezes up and I have to completely turn the Infotainment screen off and turn it back on!! Again Crazy! Super Buggy system! This happens very frequently and no one has a answer the dealership or Suburu!! My updates are complete also! Can anyone help or explain this PLEASE!! SEH

I traded out of a '23 into a '24 Limited, and I've found the touch screen response just slow enough to be frustrating. I know I'm not patient, but turning off the stupid auto start/stop drives me batty... maybe because I do it right at start-up when the car's busy doing other stuff. And changing the media source is S L O W from the steering wheel AND the touch screen. Little things.

My 2024 Crosstrek Wildernes works just fine. Touch screen is fast as far as I can tell, haven't compared it with any other vehicle.
I always turn AVH ON and start stop OFF at startup, works instantaneously.
I don't know what "changing the media source" on the steering wheel means because I never do it.
I don't have 'Apple' or 'Android' things so they can't mess with my infotainment system.
I don't have a phone to 'pair' whatever that is. I have a 'stupid' phone so I can call Road Side Assistance.
The last time I got a call on my cell phone it was a scam and my credit card company killed my CC number to protect me.
Somehow I never made it into the 21st Century. It was bad enough getting through Y2K.

It can be a bit frustrating at times but I have found its worse right after start up, Kinda like waiting for the computer to boot up, after that it gets better. It seems going into the radio app is the worst , like it is loading a lot. It seems the longer you drive the better it settles in. You kinda have to give it a few right after start to settle in

semh57, my guess is......it's your phone. Best example of separating phone from our 11" infotainment system; my dealer paired my Samsung S21 (eliminating me from spending years to pair my phone to my Xtrek Sport) then a few months later, my brother in law paired his iPhone (don't know model), effectively verifying Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are compatible in '24 Xtreks. We made two trips to visit ski areas north of NYC, Smugglers Notch in VT and Gore Mtn in NY. There was an annoying hiccup when stopping for a break when Android Auto couldn't connect to my S21 and I think it was something minor that never repeated. Next, my BIL paired his iPhone to my Xtrek so he can use Waze overlaid on maps for police spotting. AA and CarPlay with AA as default (my Xtrek) and BIL manually selecting his phone from the onscreen menu to connect. Seamless maps and phone services.

I'm fairly convinced that the head unit in my 2019 Trek was raised in an insane asylum lol! Tested with numerous phones and numerous different cables the one remaining bug was that randomly while driving Android auto would disconnect and to get it back I had to unplug the USB cable from my phone and plug it back in it was that simple. Some days it wouldn't do it once some days it would do it a dozen times or more. Dealer wanted me to spend about 700 plus dollars to replace the head unit out of warranty. I found a much simpler answer. Installed an AA Wireless Android auto adapter and now when it does disconnect it automatically reconnects within usually 10 seconds or less. Close enough, problem solved lol. I love my Trek!

Isn't modern technology just grand?! A rock-solid, glitch-free, infotainment system appears to be unobtanium, even in the present emerging age of AI. Whatever could possibly go wrong? Autonomous-driving EV vehicles, anyone?

Just keep on faffin' about and be sure to stay current with the OTA updates, okay? We apologize for any inconvenience. This is not a Subaru-only problem.

While I agree, the software is buggy. Have had a couple issues similar to what the OP noted. I do think it's funny that people are complaining about the slow response rate, "Oh my God! I have to wait 2 seconds before can turn on AVH!" :rolleyes:Seriously, first world problems. I also wish it was instantaneous, but I doubt very seriously that Subaru put the very best fastest chips in these cars, and it takes a bit of time to run all that code for the amazing things modern cars do for us. Take a breath!
OP, if these things happen often I would definitely take it back to the dealer. Mine only goes psychotic occasionally, and usually a restart fixes it.

I have a different issue with the infotainment system in my Crosstrek Limited. It does not load up anything, and the screen remains black so I cannot access my backup camera, my phone, my Google Maps, my radio, or even my air conditioning. In addition, there is no digital information displayed on my dashboard. The only things I can see are my analog gauges for things like speed and gas tank level. I do not even know whether my Eyesight safety systems are working properly. I have brought the car to a Subaru dealership. It has been there for 3 days now with no resolution. I am told that the infotainment system did come back after a reset, but that it went dark again during a test drive. Has anybody heard of this happening?

Try disconnecting all of the non Subaru phones, etc. If infotainment still doesn't work then it is a Warranty issue. My guess is the infotainment system will work. I am not aware of any 2024 Crosstrek Recalls, TSBs, software updates or any reported issues. Make sure all of your non Subaru devices have the latest firmware and software updates. Reinstall the non Subaru devices one at a time until the problem returns. When each device works alone then start adding multiple devices. The goal is to simplify troubleshooting process. I don't have any of that extra stuff connected and my infotainment system works fine. Refer to Related Threads below and search the Internet, everything is on the Internet if you can just find it.

I also have a 2024 Crosstrek Wilderness edition with barely 3k miles. I've had a lot of issues out of the infotainment center. Now it's at the dealership with a blue screen for the backup camera, no audio and Android Auto connection issues. I've tried resetting it by turning off and on the car again. But the problem is that it is periodic. Sometimes it happens. Sometimes it doesn't. This is the second time in 3 months that it has been at the dealership. The first time it took 4 and 1/2 hours just for an update. Now they have my car and have no answers and are waiting to hear back from Japan because they cannot figure out what's wrong with it because most of the time it works fine but is extremely unpredictable. Anyone else with the same issue? And if so what was the result? So far the dealer has only had it for 2 days.

I normally only drive it to go to work 2 days a week because I take care of my elderly father who has dementia and neuropathy. I occasionally use it to take him to the doctor. But I plan on taking my dog and going on a cross-country tour to see several landmarks once I buy the 2025 NuCamp Tab 320 this year. I did my research before I bought the Crosstrek because I needed something that would fit in the garage easily and I was told about the battery problems. So when I'm not using the Crosstrek I keep it on a battery maintainer to make sure it stays charged.

Mine still works fine at 12K miles. What I HAVE figured out is that the battery needs to be charged when I am not driving it. It only takes 3 days for the battery to discharge to the point that the charger has to use desulfation mode. When the car is at the dealership they probably do not keep the battery charged. Suggest they test the battery for state of health and CCAs. Maybe the battery is not up to par. If keeping the battery charged does not solve the infotainment issue then you will know it was not the battery charge. Since you only have 3K miles on a 2024 that suggests the Subaru doesn't get driven very much. A lot of sitting around and not keeping the battery charged could be an issue.
Get the 'build date' for your Subaru. My 'build date' is June 25, 2024. Subarus built early in the year seem to have more problems.
OP never replied with a soloution so that doesn't help.

My '24 Wilderness I've had for a couple of months, bought with 3800 miles, now just over 6K, and first cat with a touch screen. Overall, it's slow to react, sometimes have to touch 2-3 times to get a response. My phone contacts disappear. Voice commands, like "Call Teddy" are answered with "Canceling" I listen to NPR going to work. Sometimes it's abnormally loud, sometimes it's totally muted. Other times off. Android voice communications sometimes does not work at all, cannot hear the party I'm speaking to while driving, just interrupted intermittent sounds. Pulling off the road and turning off the car usually helps. I'd trade my cars keyless push button for a keyed switch and my screen for heating and cooling knobs and levers, I'd also be thrilled without all the electronic BS. Give me a Crosstrek Wilderness with the complexity of a '57 Chevy and I'd love it. My car was CPO, 7 year 100K mile warranty.
