Yes! Knock on wood, turning off the sync contacts appears to have solved the issue. 🤞 Thank you! 👍👍The dealer, like I said, was absolutely worthless and unwilling to help.
I am sooooo going to try this. I have a brand new iPhone 13 and a 22 Crosstrek with 900 miles on it and having the problem of calls being dropped by car over BT. I am crossing all of my piggies that this is the solution as it is driving me batty too!

I have a new 2022 Crostrek Premium which I love and is my second premium the first being a 2018. after about 3 weeks of driving the Bluetooth started giving me trouble by cutting out during a call it would cut me off on the screen and automatically reconnect me to the one, I was talking to that side of the call did not drop??? I have an iPhone 11 which is relatively new with the most current update this phone worked with no issues in my 2018 Crosstrek and in the 2021 Crosstrek Sport the dealer gave me as a loaner. The salesman had me do a factory reload which I did twice, but it did not fix the issue. It worked fine for a while like I said at the beginning. it seems when I use it for a long call maybe that is when it starts to act up and it keeps dropping and reconnecting. The same thing happens when I use the phone on Apple Carplay???? The dealer could not find any trouble?? They are waiting days for Subaru to get back to the dealer to see what to do next??? My fear is they are going to leave me in a bind unless they can duplicate the problem.
I have a 22 Crosstrek Premium and an IPhone 11pro and have the same problem. Only works if I use the cord and turn off Bluetooth.

I use the Cplay2Air adaper and the qi wireless charger to get wireless carplay and charging so far it has worked out great

I have a 2022 Crosstrex Sport. Android auto worked fine with my Samsung S20. Just changed over to S23 and now AA no longer works. Took it to the dealer and was told Subaru hasn't updated their software to work with my S23. After further research it seems this is a bigger issue then just a software update. It seems the only fix is to purchase an AAwireless dongle which somehow it mistically fixed the AA to work. Just wondering if anyone has tried this with their 2022 crosstrex?

It happens to me with my 11 pro in my 22 Crosstrek. If i plug it in I don’t have the issue. It’s annoying the way the calls bounce back and forth from the Bluetooth to the phone.

Bluetooth, like anything else electronic, can be a bit buggy. But, if I were in your shoes, I would do the following: 1. Remove the iPhone from the 2022 Crosstreks settings. 2. Remove the Crosstrek from your iPhone's settings and reboot your iPhone. 3. Start over and pair your iPhone with your 2022 Crosstrek. Now I am betting that you tried this or that Subaru had you do this. But it really doesn't hurt to try again. Just make sure that your iPhone is fully charged when you do this. Next: IMHO, the simplest solution is upgrading to an iPhone 13. I am betting that you are not wanting to hear this. But, there are some issues to consider. First: Your iPhone 11 does not support 5G - which the networks are going too. Second: Technology is advancing quickly and if you're wanting things to work properly, you might have to upgrade. Third: Your iPhone battery is getting older. Go to Settings, scroll down to battery and check the batteries health. Fourth: The iPhone 13 is far better, faster processor, more memory, 5G ready, more durable, better protection against moisture - the list goes on. Fifth: The networks are dropping 3G, which may limit your iPhone 11's reception to 4G towers. Just something to think about. (AT&T phased out 3G starting February 22, 2022 as an example!) Now the downside is that around September 2022, Apple may introduce the iPhone 14. But if you can hold off for a year, it might be best to upgrade to the iPhone 14 when it comes out! I had the iPhone 8 and last year, drove my 2013 Crosstrek out to California and back. I then bought the 2021 Crosstrek, upgraded to the iPhone 13 and drove out to California and back to help my brother... huge difference between the vehicles and iPhones! Anyway, I hope this helps. Please let us know if the suggestions helped. :)
I have the very same problem with my 2022 Crosstrek and it's annoying. Yes, U ahve a cable plugged in, AirPlay on, and the phone paired. Subaru tells me it isn't a problem

Hate to burst all the bubbles but I have a 2023 Crosstrek and an iphone13 and I still experience the bluetooth dropping issues as described above. Yes I have deleted and reloaded everything. Yes I have turned WiFi off. Yes I have reset the head unit. Yes my head unit software is up to date. No it did not fix the problem. It is ongoing. It does not happen in my wife's 2020 Outback. Also, the dash lights are so dim in the daylight as to make the dash meters invisible. It is a shame that Subaru will not acknowledge the problem or come up with a solution. I am simply instructed to go to the dealer who normally has their hands full getting the oil drain plug back on tight.
