It’s not a mic. There are two mics above on the map lights. I’ll drive it to the dealership on Monday to clarify. It’s epithet sonic sensor or some twitter.

Good find @GB49 , that answers the question! I wonder why that's only in the UK (and, perhaps, Europe). Maybe federal laws here prevent a speaker in that panel, as it flies off when the side curtain airbags deploy.

The car is 2018 1.6 SE Premium edition. Includes audio, alarm and eyesight manuals, as extra but non of them shows those two.
