Sun Roof Leak During Touch Less Car Wash

I just went through a touch less carwash for the first time and as I was sitting in the car I felt water splash on me through the sun roof as the water pressure was directly over it. Has anyone else experience this? I haven't noticed it leak at any other point. I'm not sure if I need to take it to the dealer if its a normal problem with touch less car washes.

I noticed the exact same thing. The only way I caught it was because I happened to have the shade open. Mine leaked on the passenger side of the sun roof.

I've recently put the windscreen on and I have purposely checked during the last two times I ran it through the carwash and never saw it leak again. Not saying putting the screen on fixed the problem but there is a chance it may not have been closed properly initially. So I'm thinking it may have been cracked open ever so slightly enough to cause it to leak.

Modern sunroofs are weather resistant but not waterproof.

If you look closely at the sunroof's seal, you'll notice that they are really soft rubber that won't take much for it to deform...
If you look right below those seals, you'll see a plastic gutter system which is meant to catch normal amounts of water that might slip past the seals.
If you look at the edge of those plastic gutters, you'll see a connection to a plastic tube which serves as a drain for the water to go... Those tubes go to a spot behind the rear wheels.

I wouldn't expect a system designed to carry normal rainfall amounts and pressure to stand up to a high pressure stream that is pointed in just the right spot.

This is what I've been using for years on door, trunk and sunroof seals. You can get it at ACE or most autoparts stores. You apply it with a lint free microfiber rag rubbing it in. It really helps squeaks that sometimes we think are suspension related - when in fact it's the rubber gaskets that flex with door and truck panels under stress.

As rlouie said above, you could have pollen or debris embedded in the gasket area, or not necessarily the "gasket" but the metal/glass mating surface which you would not notice because it's hidden when the roof is opened.
