I picked up a set of steel rims for winter today from the Subaru dealership. I did this so that they are guaranteed to fit, are hub centric, etc. P/N B315KFL000
When I opened the box, there was a piece of paper that said "do not use OEM wheel lug nut when installing the steel wheel. Open ended lug nuts P/N 28171FE000 must me utilized."
Why can't I use the OEM lug nuts? I'm surprised the dealer didn't tell me this and sell me the needed lug nuts.
Are open ended lug nuts literally what it says? Open at both ends (so I could technically put them on either way)?
