2013 Crostrek manual
Here is the order of events as I noticed them.
1. Battery went dead twice in a week, so I replaced it.
2. That evening, driving in the dark, I noticed that BOTH low beam bulbs were out. I think they were fine a few days ago.
3. Replaced both bulbs the next day.
4. Then noticed this after the car had been running a while
a. High beam lights are on, but dim, as though not full voltage
b. They go out when the hand brake is set
c. They come back on again when the hand brake is released
Any ideas any one?

Daylight running lights are on the same location as high beam and switched with parking brake. Never sure why as in the UK we use the hand brake at every red light.

This might mean you're headlight switch is not working.

I had a headlight switch fail after 150k and 10 years in my Pontiac LeMans, so it's not a crazy fail, but my 13 XV hasn't seen such a problem.
