Installed an AEM Dry Air Filter today. It's certainly not the easiest air filter replacement that I've ever done.
Anyone know what this piece is for, which hangs out the bottom of the stock air box in the attached photo? It looks like another intake tube could be attached, allowing for more air to flow in.
Has anyone modified their stock air box yet, including cutting out that piece on the bottom of the stock air box for more air?
Can a stock air box from a WRX or STI fit in the Crosstrek? From photos that I've seen, it looks like the intake opening is bigger, allowing for more air flow.
Finally, has anyone remove the charcoal filter from w/in the air box? Will it effect anything? It should allow for more air to flow in, shouldn't it?
Thanks
