Hey guys,
As some of you have noticed, we've experienced a real increase in spam registrations and postings over the last few weeks. I've had to delete over a dozen spammer accounts here just since yesterday ... mostly accounts from Russia, and some from the Indian subcontinent.
It's not possible for anyone to monitor every posting here in absolute real time, especially since forum moderators are volunteers, but most spam posts get deleted pretty quickly. That said, I'd appreciate everyone's help in letting me know whenever they see a post that seems even remotely suspicious. A lot of times those posts are pretty obvious, but not always -- feel free to report any post that doesn't seem to be Crosstrek-specific, or that contains links that don't directly relate to Crosstreks. Posts from parts of the world where Subaru doesn't have a presence are also worth a second look.
If you see something that you think I should take a look at, the easiest thing to do is just click on the "report" option, in the navigation menu for the post. If it's something unusually serious -- porn, violence, illegal activity, threats -- feel free to send me a PM. I can usually get to it very quickly.
Whatever else, do NOT reply to a suspected spammer's post!
Thanks, guys! Let me know if you have any questions.
