Hi all!

I am starting this thread partly to keep track on my mods and threads of note. On other forums in the past I have hated it when I find a piece of information once and then can never find it again, so I am planning to keep notes in this thread. I hope that helps out others as well.

2020 Subaru Crosstrek Premium CVT MGM w/ package 14

298595

12/27/2019 - Picked her up with 7 miles on the odometer. I don't know what to name her yet, but I will try to get to know her and see if it comes to me.

01/01/2020 - First mod: 25mm wheel spacers on all four corners. Looks good, but 20mm up front with 25mm in rear might be better.

01/04/2020 - Added side cargo nets and an old Lexus cargo net. Love the side nets. They're listed for the 13-17 Crosstrek, but they fit perfectly clipped in to the rear seat latch. Also transferred most of my breakdown/emergency kit from the LGT. Added Grand Canyon sticker and did the first wash and wax.

Mods that fit 100%:

CupholderHero inserts: These match the orange stitching perfectly.

25mm wheel spacers:

Rear side cargo nets: These do fit, but I had to clip to the rear seat latches.

Skid Pan Washers: These look exactly like the LP Adventure "Rally Washers". I ordered the 5/16" size and they work great with the Primitive front skid plate. I don't see any reason to pay more from LP since these exist.

Primitive Skid Plates: As has been heavily documented on the forum, these fit great and seem high quality and functional. The front skid does bolt to the radiator support, so it clearly wouldn't support the weight of the vehicle. It's more to protect your oil pan and other bits with something more substantial than the this factory plastic. I did leave on the factory plastic splash shield. I just had to expand the driver's side hole in the plastic for the front bolt. Install was very easy, I didn't even have to completely remove the front splash guard.

Street Guardian dash cam: This is universal so it should be no surprise that it fits. I mounted the rear cam center high and ran the cable low along the door sills. The front camera is mounted high in front of the driver as close to the eyesight cameras as I dared.

Draw-tite hitch 76209: This fits without any mods to frame holes or anything. Install was surprisingly easy, but the exhaust was in the way. If I was to do it over, I would drop the muffler and also unbolt it and set it aside. I had to maneuver the hitch around and thru the exhaust mounts and it would have been way easier without it on the car. I stood on it, but haven't towed anything yet. It seems sturdy.

PIAA Horn Kit: One horn could replace the upper oem horn with zero modification and only what came in the box. The oem wire connector is a female quick connector and slides right on to the PIAA horn. True bolt on. I mounted the second horn with one of the bolts for the hood latch release and some washers to space it away from the sheet metal and avoid rattles. I spliced into the power to the oem horn to poer the second and it seems to work great. About 20% louder than stock and it sounds like a big sedan.

When raising the seat back into an upright position, do the net clips interfere with the rear seat back latching?

I can’t wait to see pics! I love looking at everyone’s cars, and it builds the hype for when mine arrives.

Are you a fan of any particular pop culture franchise? My interests combined with the color of car is how I’ve named mine! My ‘17 Impreza was the dark blue and I named it Yondu (after Guardians of the Galaxy). My ‘20 Crosstrek is Cool Gray Khaki and I’m naming it Doctor Manhattan. Maybe that can help name yours?

I do. I'm a big fan of Star Trek, Star Wars, The Expanse, and many others. I've been wracking my brain for a good name but it hasn't quite landed yet. For example, I like "Intrepid" like the Star Trek ship... but Dodge ruined that one. My LGT is my girl Friday from the Robert A. Heinlein book.

The car looks great! Can't wait to see the mods that you make. Just purchased the CupHolderHero inserts for my 2020 in black/orange. Do they seem to fit well in the 2020 interior? Thanks!
Yeah they fit perfectly and the orange matches the stitching. To me they look oem. Really a great "smiles per mile" value.

I installed the cheaper "rally washers" and Primitive skid plates last night. Still need to install the Fumoto valve when I change the oil. The rally washers fit and look exactly like the LP Adventure versions.
I left the factory front plastic splash shield on with the front skid and it fit just fine. I did have to enlarge the hole in the plastic on the front driver's side bold. No big deal, I didn't even completely remove the plastic!
Here's a couple of pictures of the "rally washers"

Was waiting to see these installed with the skids. Thank you for sourcing these and playing guinea pig. Just ordered 4!

Took a weekend camping trip to Gila National Forest in NM. It was the first time my girlfriend had camped in the snow.
Also snagged nails in two tires. One is repairable, but I am ordering a new tire for the other. I almost just replaced all four with better tires... I hope I don't regret buying another crappy stock tire.

Sorry... we had a nail in the sidewall when ours was fairly new. Back then, no one had the OEM tires so we had to order it from the dealer. Depending on the tread on the other tires, you may need to get it shaved.
