I agree. I don't want to have to remember to turn the radio off every time I get out of the car. I don't know many people who listen to the radio in the first 30 seconds of starting a car. But many are listening when they shut it off. having to turn the radio off every time to not get blasted when you start the car the next morning is absurd.

Also, seems like not a lot of people are using remote start or have cars with more than one driver. If the radio is on mute when you shut the car off, IT SHOULD REMEMBER THAT STATE when you start it. Anyone making excuses for this lack of simple programming is being silly.

I dont understand why we are on page 3 of this thread when the radio doesnt operate any differntly than any car I have ever had. The volume is the same as you last left it. Pretty simple no?
No. If you turn off the radio, it will come back on again when you restart the car. That's different from every other car I've owned.

Hmm, mine doesn't do that. If I turn the radio off, it stays off, even when turning the car back on. Make sure you are doing a proper turn off -holding the volume button for 3 seconds til it goes black. Just tapping it is more like a pause button.

Yes, you're right about that. I don't like using that method of turning off the radio as it shuts down the entire HU so you lose everything else on the display, nav, etc. I just got into the habit of turning the volume down to zero.
