Fellas,

hope you are having good weekend. I just added XV to our family lineup as a practical one. I am one of those weekend warriors love to work on my cars in my garage. I opened up the hood and tried to understand the layout of the boxer engine Just came back from the front window tinting and disabled the rear seat reminder. For the oil filter, mine shows made by Tokyo roki but I was expecting more like blue Subaru OEM. I googled it and it looks like it's another subaru OEM? Can someone clarify it for me?

Welcome! Nice choice! I see you opted for the sunroof. Did it come with the approach light mirrors?

The black oil filter is OEM in Japan. Being the car is built there, they use that version.

Question, how do you turn off the rear seat minder? Never looked into that so curious.

Thanks for the filter info. For the rear seat reminder, while i had asked my sales person to check any software updates, I also asked him to remove it if possible because I knew i got that during my test drive back in May and i didnt like it. He brought it to a service tech for those updates. I could be wrong but isn't supposed to be a simple coding change?

@subyrubyroo, I was able to turn off the Rear Seat Reminder myself on my '22 just via the settings menu that's accessed via the steering wheel up/down toggles on the left.
