I just received an estimate for parts and labor for to replace the Auxillary Battery and auxiliary battery relay in my 2015 Crosstrek hybrid. The estimate is around $1000. Are these replacements straightforward enough to do myself/ with my boyfriends' help? I'd love to get your insight about doing this myself to save some money. Thank you!

Replaced AGM Aux battery and the relay. No more lights on dash! But now- I need to replace front axle assembly and the shop quoted me 1500. My boyfriend thinks we can do it ourselves. He has a fair amount of experience with fixing cars but I know this is a bit more complicated. Does anyone have experience replacing front axle assembly? Do you think it's worth saving money to do it ourselves?
