Good evening everyone! I'm brand new to this space as my wife has a 2017 Crosstrek and this morning I got, 'Hey my car is making a funny clicking noise so can we swap cars today please?" Lol! Turned the wheel as I was easing out the garage onto the side road and right away heard the dreaded CV Axle clicking. I have a lift in my garage so I can knock it out but when I went to find the OEM replacement I saw them at the above website (In the title) for $347.48 a pop. Parts.Subaru.com have them at $519.40 a pop. Is subaru.oempartsonline the real deal? I'm cool with paying more as long as I get the best quality replacement ya know. Thanks for the help. I really appreciate it!

A few minutes using 2017 Crosstrek Limited (you didn't state model), part #28421SC003 shows five Subaru online sites with varying costs between $347.48 to $425.91. All five display the Subaru logo, MSRP list cost and discounted cost along with percentage discount from MSRP.

Genuine Subaru Parts

The other two sites do not show Subaru's logo and I presume they're aftermarket. The $519.40 is from subarupartssuperstore.com and doesn't show it as a genuine Subaru OEM part.

This is one of a bunch of storefronts put together by a company called revolutionparts.com. They're a third-party intermediary that has contracts with a bunch of Subaru dealers across the country to market parts -- as I understand it, Revolution Parts doesn't have their own inventory, but they just forward your order to a client Subaru dealer for fulfillment, putting their name on the invoicing and keeping a cut of the revenue. It's not a business model I'd feel good about, because you don't really know whose inventory your parts are coming from, and that raises the possibility of customer service issues.

There are plenty of Subaru dealers who sell parts online at a discount and are straightforward enough to have their own branding, and I'd stick with one of those.
