Nice photoshop skills, there!

Honestly, though, I'd already consider the Crosstrek's visibility to be excellent. And if there's a visibility issue, it's because of the rear window tinting, which I wouldn't want to give up ...
Thanks. I have converted over to the excellent (and extremely well-valued Affinity Photo/Designer programs for the past 5 years (or more) after being a long time Photoshop user.

Having no place to comfortably put my left elbow as I'm driving is my biggest pet peeve. This is the first automobile I had in a fleet where that has been an issue. Better visibility would be secondary for me.

To me, having excellent visibility is one of the hallmarks of "sportiness."

Sportiness isn't in the looks, but in the doing of driving.

Not being able to see well (much less not having a place to prop one's elbow) detracts from the driving experience in my opinion.

I don't feel I have any sort of visibility issues.

Sounds like a good way to get skin cancer. 😉
The solution to breaking this behavior is a manual transmission car where you need keep your left hand on the wheel.

News headline: Manual Transmissions Prevent Skin Cancer. ;)

Every vehicle I've driven as my personal car (our Crosstrek with CVT is my wife's car) has been a manual. Each was easy to drive with my left elbow propped on an open window, while allowing my left hand to reach the steering wheel.

Growing up in sun in Los Angeles, with summers on the beach and out playing football, rugby, and other outdoor sports, and--in later years--spending a lot of time out gardening, skin cancer risks are not joke. I have a great dermatologist--who I became friendly with before he became my physician--who pays close attention. So far, aside from removing some of those wield benign growths that come with aging, the only things he's needed to from was a tiny patch of what looked consistent with precancerous cells. Hopefully my luck holds.

Meanwhile, in my temperate zone, I want a place to rest my elbow, with the window down, as I tool around.

Is that so much to ask for??? ;)

They finally have the full 10 way adjustable drivers seat…now they need to put at least an 8 way adjustable seat in for the front passenger‘s seat too…at least on the higher trim models. Most other brands do.

I also drive with my elbow on the sill... and I find it perfectly comfy in my Crosstrek. 🤷‍♂️

I'd love a head unit that sounds decent, though. I especially hate how the bass rolls down as you turn up the volume. The audio system is sub-par.

That, or turbo. Coin toss, for me.

I actually think the Crosstrek's sound system sounds better than the Harmon-Kardon one in my 09 Outback.

However, I think the adaptive volume is pretty lame as it seems to have two levels - still and moving volume. A gradual increase in volume proportional to vehicle speed would be more useful.

Yeah, that's reasonable. However, I do find adaptive volume to be kind of silly, myself. But I come from a background of doing custom automotive stereo installs. My previous vehicle had a 1,100 Watt 10 speaker system in it. I'm quite picky when it comes to audio. haha Regardless, I want to have full control of audio settings, rather than having the unit adjust things itself & I have no say in the matter. That, IMO, is ridiculous.

No, an 1,100W sound system in a car is ridiculous.

Not to mention if you don't like the adaptive volume feature, you can easily defeat it via settings on the HU.
