Went through this forum, went through the internet, stuck on some tire choices. What it comes down to is i would probably be happy with all of these choices but looking for some thoughts from the forum.

Looking for an all season. I'm a big believer in snow tires but we just dont need them in snowy mass. I even have them on my Tacoma due to long commutes. Wife's a teacher so there really is no need to go all out. All seasons are the pick.
First thing that comes to mind is a quiet ride. Stock G91's are getting loud on the highway. Grip in rain, OK in snow, decent mileage, no real budget, just want a good tire that fits the bill. Do not need or want AT tires. This is our travel car
My research has brought me to
1. Goodyear assurance weatherready
2. General Altimax RT43
3. Michelin crossclimate2
4. Michelin Defender t+h

I mean these seem like the top pick, but would some some thoughts on real world experience, or just thoughts from people who have also done this research. Im leaning the RT43 because they seem to hit all the points while being the cheapest of the group.

When my tires need replacing, I am going to get the Michelin CrossClimate2's in the factory standard size- your #3 on the above list.
They offer the shortest stopping distance on wet and dry roads along with good snow and ice abilities- perfect for me.

Michelin all day all year, either of them. Michelin has a $70 rebate right now. Discount tire is a sponsor as well, and you can get a card from them for more rebate usually.

definitely intrigued by the crossclimate. The tread looks noisy to me, the reviews say otherwise.
The defender, i have them for my tacoma and is probably the only tire i will buy for it.

I have the Goodyear Assurance Weatherready. I like them a lot, though I run dedicated snows in the winter because we live in a high elevation ski resort, and nothing but a real snow tire does the job on the steep hills.

The Weatherready are very very good in snow, as good as any all-season I have ever run on any vehicle. They are pretty quiet on dry roads, and very confidence inspiring in the wet. I would replace them with the identical tires. They are much much better than the OEM tires.

I put the General's(v-rated rt43) on the family's MY18, and they have been great(way better then the original Yokohama).

I put #4 the Michelins Defender T + H on my '14. Very smooth ride. Seemed to wear OK too. Went with them for their long life but note that you do give a little to get that. The compound on a long life tire is harder so not quite as good in the snow and ice. Didn't care as I use a dedicated snow tire. Switched to the Falkens on the current car and have not looked back.

Anyone looking for a new set of take off Yokohama's for half the price of new that is in the tri-state NY/NJ area hit me up because they will be coming off my new 22 Sport when it arrives and for sale. Not crazy about Yoko tires and will most likely put the Michelin crossclimate2 tires on but not sure yet. Thanks

I've always had good experience with Pirelli tires. Quiet, reliable, and long-lasting. I've had them on a Nissan Murano and a Mercedes C-250, so I don't have experience with the Crosstrek. But it might be another choice worth looking into.

As you noted, all of these are solid options, and you are correct they would all likely work for your needs. Each one is going to offer a slightly different experience though. Tires are a product of compromise, no tire can score 5 out of 5 in every performance attribute, meaning there will always be a give and a take.

The Goodyear weatherready, and Michelin Cross climate would actually fall into a newer tire category called "All weather" tires. There are some positives and negatives with these as well however they offer a great balance of the best winter traction for a tire that can be driven all year long.

The Generals would be a great selection for your usage and perform well during the summer months as well. We can help further, pm on the way.

I have gotten great miles out of Pirelli tires. Currently running the P7 Cintaurato's on my wife's daily driver and the last set went 70K miles. 240K on that daily driver so its seen many tires over the years and its not a Subaru...

The Wife initially replaced the tires on her C-250 with the same Continentals the dealership uses by default (but we went to Discount Tire, of course). She was unhappy with the ride and noise, so after a few weeks I convinced her to try the Cintaurato P7. Discount Tire was outstanding at honoring their test drive policy, and she was happy with the Pirellis.

I have hearing aids and can hear an ant fart, and actually less noise than stock.
They are killer in the rain as well as dry handling.

It is a Limited,
but I replaced the 225/55/18's (27.8" Dia) with 235/6017's (28.1" Dia)
The larger side walls in conjunction with Rallitek, stock height +0.5", overload springs/Bilstein's created the perfect ride on and off-road.
On/Off-ramps are a blast, yet the Tires/Suspension combo smooth out any harsh bumps or manholes.
These tires really grab the road. I cant brake them loose no matter how aggressive I drive. Sick!

Cross climate 2. It drastically improves ride and handling. Never saw such a step change in a tire like this before.
