Well new here. Figured I would start a modifying thread. We just bought a 2020 Limited silver/black. Got most options minus Nav.

First mod I assume will cause quite a stir. I installed a radar detector. Have them in all my cars. Tried a different brand this time, Uniden R3. I usually do Escort. Also I usually Mount directly to windshield. I did however go the rear view route. I will see if it does ok. There really isn’t a good alternative for a location. Lower left or right isn‘t that good.
Purchased these items

Also needed to find a decent phone mount. I tried this one. We shall see. Phone mounting is a bit tough as well.

Also mounted my inverter. Plugged it into the center console. It powers my printer I need for work. Another member on here ran and mounted a nice power source to the back and I will do this once he posts some details.

Things to come; windows tinted next week, full detail and probably PPF on the front, disable start/stop. We will see what else.

Well here we go. No need to do a step by step as @Doca has that covered. We shall see. I haven't done any car audio for 20+ yrs.

Well we are all done Stereo mod completed. Thanks so much to @Doca he was a life saver and totally amazing how much time he spent answering and helping me along the way. Pure asset to this forum.

I got all my stuff from Crutchfield and so glad I did as I did not end up with what I started with. I first went Infinity Reference series and no sub with a 5 channel Alpine amp and the Audio Control LC7.

First install was to swap the speakers, followed doca’s how to and easy peezy done. That was ok. Better than stock for sure. Then came the install of the amp and LC7. Both were mounted under the passenger seat. We will see how they do in all the weather and with the heater/ac ducts blowing on them. Could be a disaster. Other option would be to mount the LC7 in the dash but sure glad I didn’t. I have adjusted that now three times and that would be a pain getting to it. I also had a professional run the power wire from the battery through the firewall to the amp.

I wasn’t happy. The bass was not great so Crutchfield talked me into swapping the Infinity for Kickers. Swapped those out again. By now I can do a door in about 5 minutes. That was much better. I could have stopped there. Well the problem is now I got the bug and was so close to a perfect set up. Another purchase from Crutchfield and 10” slim sub ordered and installed. Sound like I am at the concert now. Sub is in that place for now because I fold down my back seats and load up the back with work products so no room.

Which kickers did you end up with? I swapped the stock speaker but haven't done the LOC or amp/sub yet. Also, what did you pick for sub? Curious how you ended up routing the wiring.

Amp - Alpine PDR-V75 5-channel car amplifier — 75 watts RMS x 4 at 4 ohms + 350 watts RMS x 1 at 2 ohms at Crutchfield
speakers - Kicker 44KSC6904 6"x9" 2-way car speakers at Crutchfield
Sub - Rockford Fosgate R2S-1X10 Sealed truck-style enclosure with with one 10" Prime subwoofer at Crutchfield

I didn’t run the wire. I had a shop run the power wire but they went through the firewall boot in the center It looked out of my league.

Was it a single wire from the battery to power both the amp and LOC? I've never installed an LOC so I'm curious.
