We are currently looking at tires on our xv.
Discount tire recommends a sport tire by Yokohama, which is what came with the car in 2013. I'm wanting a trailing tire.
I happened to see a set of the Falken all terrains on a jeep compass. They looked nice and not too aggressive for highway use.
We still have stock 17s, so my question is, what is the size we will have to use to stay as stock as possible?
We have not done any mods to the car as of yet. Doing things simple.

The only applicable 17-inch size for the WildPeak A/T3W (assuming this is the tire you're referencing) is 215/65R-17.

215/65R-17 Falken WildPeak A/T3W | Discount Tire

This size is ~1.25-inches taller and 1/2-inch narrower when compared to O.E. so bear in mind some changes to ODO, speedometer and handling may occur. No modifications to fit this size should be needed, though.

If you are referring to the new WildPeak A/T Trail, this model is offered in the factory 225/55R-17 size as well as a slightly larger (~1-inch i diameter) 225/60R-17, which also works with factory wheels.

Guess not ...... maybe I will give them a try. Can't figure out why no one else on here has run these. Seems like the KO2 is king her. To me a LT tires for our cars just seems like to much.

I just ordered the *new Falken Wildpeak A/T trail in 215/60R17 (will be the new OE tire for 2020 Toyota Rav4 TRD off road) specifically designed for crossovers for a 2014 crosstrek, I'm very glad there's more competition for rugged crossover tires now!!! No need for a lift or different rims :D

We're a ways off needing to replace the OEM tires but there were times during our last off-roading on the fires trails around here that I wondered if the OEM Falkens on our Limited (18") would be up for the job. Especially, having to replace one because of a tiny screw in it, shortly after we got the car...

I think these would definitely do great on any terrain, they seem like a true A/T!

Nice looking tires

Living in Canada, and not a big fan of the Geolander OE tires (fly fisher) and wanted something that was more substantial, I opted for the Nokian Rotiiva's A/T ( Mtn Snowflake) (Kal Tire) love em, mounted on Fast 16" Shibuya "Bronze" winter rated rims. The reason I Down sized rims was to give my ride MORE sidewall, than the 17" OE rims (Too heavy) provided.
Ride is Way better, on and off road, road noise is comparable to Winter only tires.
Sold the OE Geolanders to a neighbour with a late model Outback ( look great on her car), I personally Didn't care for the look or the excess weight / corner of my ride.. Having shed several pounds / corner the car is nimble and quick on the highway/off road LOL

That looks great! Lots of meat now with the smaller rims, yeah the OE geolanders suck big time for anything other than the pavement :|

The only applicable 17-inch size for the WildPeak A/T3W is 215/65R-17, here's the link to it at Discount Tire Direct.

DT, would the 225/60R 18 fit on stock Forester Sport wheel without mod?

The 225/60R-18 size is safely run on a wheel that is 6 to 8-inches wide, so it will fit on the factory Forester Sport 18x7 wheels.

This size, however, may be a tad on the aggressive side and may rub depending on the year of your Crosstrek.
