It has been a while since I lived in on the East Coast and needed an EZ-Pass but I expect it would be just fine on the bottom right of the windshield, out of the Eyesight no-go zone and way out of the view of the driver.

If you don't drive on toll roads daily, you can just leave it in your glovebox and lay it anywhere on your dash and it will work. I've been doing this for years. Transponders are ugly and annoying.
