But won't that require every HU to have new firmware that understands the change? I don't think the satellites are tracking the DST rules in every location (e.g. California vs. Arizona). I assume they broadcast UCT and leave the rest up the device receiving it.The units with nav get their time information from the satellites that provide the cars with GPS data ... so as long as the satellites are broadcasting the correct time, the Subarus will, too.
Mine is set to 'sync to phone' automatically. I happened to have the phone connected (with cable) using Android Auto Sunday morning and was 45 minutes or so into a trip before the time on the display changed.
