Anyone found a dash cam that works well with that giant lane departure camera system at the top of the windshield? Seems like you’ll have to have the dash cam below that factory system in order for the dash cam to get a good frontal view, which may block your view
I have my camera (Thinkware U1000) installed in the top left corner of the windshield, it fits between the glass and the sunshade and is completely covered by the sunshade when it is swung down and forward. I'm contemplating ordering a set of black A pillar covers for an Impreza sport to replace the stock light gray ones and eliminate the reflection that the camera and I can see especially at nighttime.
I have a Blackvue dashcam installed on my MY18. I used a Blendmount mirror adapter and have it adjusted up as high as it can fit behind the rear view mirror.
The dashcam is invisible from the driver's view, completely hidden by the mirror.
Some pics attached from when it was installed during winter 2019.
I route mine down the passenger side of the roof liner, through the wiring boot to the hatch up to the rear window... takes a minute to get it through but it's a clean install.
