Just have to say that I really appreciate the irony of a random poster on the internet repeatedly suggesting that it's foolish to trust a random poster on the internet.
But yeah, the subject has been discussed here many times, without consensus. My personal feeling is that 40K intervals are unnecessarily frequent, but 100k intervals might not be, keeping in mind the car's usage and driving conditions. The main point I like to make in these threads is that CVT fluid replacement requires some precision, and there's real potential for damage if it's done incorrectly, so for a lot of folks having it done by an experienced mechanic is probably a good idea.
