CVT Fluid Change Interval

Just have to say that I really appreciate the irony of a random poster on the internet repeatedly suggesting that it's foolish to trust a random poster on the internet. ;)

But yeah, the subject has been discussed here many times, without consensus. My personal feeling is that 40K intervals are unnecessarily frequent, but 100k intervals might not be, keeping in mind the car's usage and driving conditions. The main point I like to make in these threads is that CVT fluid replacement requires some precision, and there's real potential for damage if it's done incorrectly, so for a lot of folks having it done by an experienced mechanic is probably a good idea.

IMO,
First off, you can easily do this yourself if you ever did an oil change. Nothing hard about a drain and fill of fluid, other than getting under there and having room to do it.
Respectfully, I have to disagree with this. Servicing the CVT fluid requires a much greater level of precision than an engine oil change, and if there's an issue with the work there's a real risk of quickly and severely damaging your transmission. This is one job I'd leave to someone with a fair amount of CVT-specific experience.
