Check Engine, Hill Start Assist, VDC lights on with Blinking Cruise Control

Hello!

My Check Engine light, Hill Start Assist light, and VDC light keep popping on. When this happens, the cruise control also blinks until the check engine light turns off.

This has happened a few times and the lights usually turn off on their own... Starting with the VDC (usually while driving), then the hill start assist (again, usually while driving), and finally the check engine (typically after I turn off the car).

I'm also unable to save radio station presets (not sure if that's related).

I've read several forums and there could be a wide array of issues... Crosstrek "sensitivity", cold weather (I live in New England), faulty break light switch among the most common.

I'm going to my mechanics to get the trouble code, but until then I was curious if anyone else has had this issue, and what resolved it.

Thanks in advance!

It always does that when you have a check engine code. There's no way to help you unless you get the code read.

Got back from my mechanic...
The stored codes are, P0011 & P000A
BTW, fill in your car information in your profile - what's the manufacturing year?

A quick search for the codes yields:
P0011 Intake Camshaft Timing – Over-Advanced Bank 1
P000A Intake ”A” Camshaft Position Slow Response Bank 1.

Seems it's the OCV solenoid.

That sounds about right. Mine is 2019 with about 57000 on it
I am having this EXACT same issue currently with my 2019 crosstrek. Was it safe to drive? What was the fix. I’m out of town when this is happening. Seat heaters also cut off a few weeks back of that seems related.
In response to your radio not saving the pre-sets. That issue went away when I updated the radio system. Did that from the radio, but had to connect radio to my home WiFi first. Fun.
