or go wild and stream from apple music. i have over 500 albums ripped. i quit listening to them when i started streaming. apple music sounds much better than any mp3s that i ripped.
OP, i can't help you with the CD player. i haven't used one in years. in fact i tried to use my DVD player the other night and forgot how and gave up
I have a binder of old CDs that I put together about 15 years ago when I was driving an old Toyota. and I've faithfully transferred that binder to all the cars I've owned since ... and used it less with each subsequent car. I think I've probably played two CDs in my current Crosstrek, total. All my personal music lives in an iPod that I keep in the car, and using it is way easier than dealing with the CDs.
Which is my way of saying that I think transferring your music to a new medium is going to be the easiest way to go, by far. If you want to stick with the CDs, though, there's a possibility that you could find an external player that could send data to your head unit via Bluetooth, and that's what I would try ... though I haven't seen posts here from anyone who's done that. I don't think there's much chance of getting a wired, USB connection to work.
same with me, rip all my cd to ipod and recently bought used ipod since my first ipod battery died. i only used the cd player in the car just to play test track to tune my audio setting.
I got the Premium trim specifically because it has a cd player, it was on my must-haves list. You could always use a discman and connect an aux cable from that to the aux outlet on the stereo unit.
Yea was thinking of burning them to a thumb drive. May just do that.. NOW if I can sweet talk my mac into letting me plug in a CD player. (another story for another time.. LOL)
Thanks much to all
Same here with the ripping. I have a CD player in my 2021 Ltd but have only used it a couple of times. I have ripped most of my CDs to my Pono digital music player... much more convenient.
My favorite band has a new album coming out in a couple of days and of course I'm going to download it but my husband also pre-ordered the cd for me. He knows I love popping in a cd and cruising, I'm so glad the center console fits a few in there!
I was very disappointed when I got home with my new 2022 Outback and discovered that it had NO(!) CD player, feel that salesperson should have mentioned this fact ! 😟 👎🏽
As everyone has said in response to my question.. Don't NEED the CD.. The Thumbdrive is perfect.. And ... much less clutter from all the CDs hanging around in the car.
