Do you guys know if there's any differences between the two generations suspension components?

I'm mainly interested in the front and rear struts.

Thank you in advance.

Unfortunately the oem struts for 18+ are listed online as different parts from the struts on the 2013-17 models. That probably means they can’t be swapped.

The second gen car is on an entirely different platform than the first gen car. There are little to no parts in common.

I appreciate the feedback.

Now I'm curious if the latest generation of Forester struts will swap over.

Bilstein shocks are now selling two of it’s shocks versions for the XV ‘17. B4 and B6, this happened after six years of XV production, lets cross from fingers and hope we can have those for the newer model.

My son replaced his worn suspension with Bilstein shocks in his 09 Forester. They are a lot rougher than my stock 18 on our cabin road. Having said that they are less likely to bottom out on a hole or big bump. So there are always cons and pros.

My initial reason for posting this thread was due to my intention of using the first gen B6s on my 2019. I've just learned that Bilstein just released the B6s for the 2nd gen.

Can't wait to get my hands on these.
