I never thought I wold own a Subaru. Originally I was going with the Forester XT but then re-examined what we needed and switched. The XV is on order, should take delivery before end of May '13. It's replacing a 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe diesel. Big change but we don't need the big car any more as one child has gone to university overseas. A lot of ground clearance and 4WD is essential for when the Typhoons come or when going to remote places.
Extras on the build: Tinted windows (essential in the tropics), Spoiler, Cargo Tray, Rear step protector, Splash guards.
Planned extras: Sports grill, sound system upgrade to Kicker speakers. Maybe 110v power outlet when available. Replace spare with full size.
