Hi Forum,

I got an Android aftermarket head unit from Amazon and installed everything correctly, but I can't figure out how to get the factory-installed backup camera to work. I have all connections in place; the steering wheel controls and audio are working fine, but the backup camera is not.

The car is a 2017 XV/Crosstrek manufactured in Japan. I've attached pictures of the only connector I couldn't identify.

Looking forward to some advice.

Which OEM radio do you have? The code should be printed on the front of the unit. You can then look to see where the camera wire connection is located. My camera wires were embedded in the large main connector but each year and model may be different. There are vendors that sell Subaru specific harnesses but need more info.

In the USA, the Clarion units for 2017 were either 86201FJ690 or 780. Probably the same wiring as yours just maybe no HD radio or something with the apps being a different country. Can't locate a pinout chart at the moment though.

What kind of harness did you purchase? This guy has a lot of different ones and might be able to at least steer you in the right direction. I added a camera to my car years ago and bought the harness parts from him. Been a long time so can't remember exactly what I did but was on a '14 so a different radio anyway.
