    Yeah, I dunno. I had something similar happen with a Mazda I used to drive, to the point where I actually filed a claim against Mazda and got them to repaint the hood. So it can definitely happen, but I think sometimes it's just fate, too. Getting trapped behind a plow truck that's spreading sand for a few miles might be enough all by itself sometimes ...

    Hey, Kaiser! Hope you're enjoying life in Big Sky country. As for the rock chips, I was a little worried about how the paint would hold up this winter, but I put on about 3,000 miles a month and overall the paint still looks surprisingly good ... a couple of good-sized divots down by the fog lights, but not much more. My windshield looks like it's been sandblasted, though, and I wonder about the quality of the glass. There's a crack in the windshield, though, so I have to replace it this spring anyway.
