  1. Model Year 2018 and Newer Possible 18+ DRL Disable? Need Input

    Lighting, Electrical, and EyeSight
I'm pretty sure it doesn't...just turns off the DRL's and lights the dash warning light. Another unusual idea from the engineers at Subaru.
  2. Model Year 2018 and Newer Possible 18+ DRL Disable? Need Input

    Lighting, Electrical, and EyeSight
I totally agree with you. Read my post again...that's what I was trying to say. It will "kick the cruise off". Sorry for the confusing explanation!
  3. Model Year 2018 and Newer Possible 18+ DRL Disable? Need Input

    Lighting, Electrical, and EyeSight
I know someone who installed a switch to override the parking brake switch and when the car thinks the parking brake is on, it disables the cruise control and who knows what else. They never worried about eliminating the warning light on the dash, but now they're able to evade the police when...
  4. Model Year 2018 and Newer 2019 Crosstrek - Growing Disillusioned & Potential Recall?

    Subaru XV General Discussion Forum
It is only an issue with the steering column. You are the only one thinking that there is more to it...Why??? Subaru probably closed the plant down that long so they could thoroughly investigate and pinpoint the problem to make the proper redesign. It doesn't mean that there were numerous...
  5. Model Year 2018 and Newer rear seat back protectors + velcro

No need to cut off the cords. With a little time and effort you can push the ends of the cord back through the holes in the rubber mat.
  6. Applies to All Model Years How to fully charge the battery?

    Lighting, Electrical, and EyeSight
FWIW: The OEM battery in my 05 Subaru lasted me 9 yrs+. The only reason I replaced it was because I realized it was that old. It was still working fine with only 41,000 miles on it, but I didn't want to risk being stranded some cold snowy night.

  8. Model Year 2012 to 2017 Water damaged 2014 Subaru Crosstrek

DIY and 3rd party Maintenance, How To's & Tools
Since no one has answered your initial question yet, I will at least acknowledge it. I really don't know for certain that it is the ECU, but I've seen more than one vehicle with the ECU in that general location. My best bit of advice for you is to invest in a good repair manual(from Subaru)...
  9. Model Year 2012 to 2017 '17 Clunking/Clicking from Driver's Rear Suspension

    Suspension and Brakes
That's what warranties are for. I know it's a PITA to go to the dealer but if it is a loose bolt and further damage is caused while that bolt was loose...it'll be on record for possible future issues. Weren't wheel bearings an issue in some models?
  10. Applies to All Model Years Simple oil question....

If you read all posts in this thread, you will understand my post.
  11. Model Year 2012 to 2017 Why does it look like I have batting or insulation in my Airbox

    Engine and Drivetrain
Actually the batting is in the front...you can see the engine on the left. That's why you can't see the charcoal filter. The picture was taken from an unexpected angle. ...and peppermint oil smells much better than moth balls.

And you didn't mention 75w 90 gear lube????
  13. Model Year 2012 to 2017 Why does it look like I have batting or insulation in my Airbox

    Engine and Drivetrain
It's possible they did change the filters, but with mice in there it wouldn't take long to look like that. {You didn't tell us how long ago they were changed}. You definitely have mice!!

There's no such thing as overkill, if that's what you want or need!

Great idea soldering to the LED, I don't like cutting into wiring harnesses if not necessary. I'll probably use your idea here, but I think I'm going to place the second fixture just inside the hatch on the ceiling. There are three "button-type" fasteners at that location and I'll run the wiring...
