Should work that way. The CA state tax credit has income limitations on it, something like $250k.

OK, I must be missing something here?

With some quick calculations, with the average miles driven of, say, 12K per year, and the average US price of gasoline of $2.50 per gallon, even assuming the extremes of our 20mpg and the 34mpg that Ktval may be getting, that's a difference of less than $700 a year, and that's assuming you're not spending more money on charging at home or elsewhere, plus the infrastucture to do so.

It would take many years, without the additional expenses of replacing the batteries to just break even.

Again, I'm looking forward to seeing some actuals, although it may take more than a year, LOL!

I drive on average 35-40k a year here in the north east. That said the two factors that were in play for me was first I need access to the hov lane. Time is the most valuable asset that we all have and being able to have access to the hov lane for me is worth about 15 hrs a week, that’s huge!!! I did have that with my Prius and also about 15-18 mpg better. Secondly The weather here in the north east isn’t always that good so after owning 3 Prius I wanted something with all wheel drive. Third is it had to be pretty small with a hatchback for my business as I move supplies around on occasions and park a lot in the city. Third I wanted to be able to pull my jet ski around. The only choice that I had was the hybrid Subi so here I am.

    And we're happy you're here!

Yep, I can see it making sense with that many miles a year, and the HOV lane is a bonus...

I ordered mid-March so hopefully I'll take delivery mid-June. I got mine for about $2600 under MSRP in South Jersey, without moonroof package, so I'm looking at about $29k after Fed tax credit.
