I was waiting for acceptance confirmation of this before I posted, but I am now an official Subaru Ambassador. What is this? It is a new program launched by SOA (not sure of the rest of the globe) to get more interaction and yes promotion of the brand by regular people who are enthusiastic about their Subaru. They send us swag and we go out and about to events, heck even family get togethers or just getting to talking to someone on the street. This was an invitation only thing, so I don't think one can just volunteer for it (as of yet anyway) but it seems like it will be fun. As i learn more I will post and I will try to answer questions you have and as an ambassador I will get product updates supposedly well ahead of public release and I will try to post that info up here as well. I look forward to this journey and I am thankful to have all of you crazy Subaru nuts there with me!! More to come.
P.S., If you are a new ambassador as I am, go ahead and post up here if you wish. Maybe we can get a sense of where we all are!!
I saw on Instagram someone had a Subaru Ambassador lifestyle tile for their badge of ownership, has anyone seen where you can request to get one if you are an ambassador?
This looks like something for me to look in to. I'm already pushing Subaru for years, It would be fun to have the title to go along with it. I sold 2 new Subaru's last year and I'm working on one now. He's a die hard Honda guy But i'm getting thru to him.
I agree, have always given folks my opinion on vehicles( having worked so long in that industry) some take it,so do not, I hate being the one who says I told you so, but you purchased it anyway .....sigh. Have a friend (Honda owner) who is now convinced this is the next car for her:icon_lol:
We are not required to go to all local meets and stuff. But every 5th of the month, we have to fill out a form and submit it to the program, logging any activity we had with the program(in person, online, ect)
got my subie swag today. Will probably put a giveaway thread up tonight for some goodie bags
A big box of Drive Magazines showed up. Those are tough, they're dated. So I found a guy who could put them on the counter at a local Subie Repair Shop.
I think it's a good idea.
or maybe a forum too? I'm sure there are plenty of us Ambassadors who would love to give some stuff away!
(deb, do we need permission to do giveaways?)
Ambassadors could be broken down in to geographic regions. This would give a chance to meet people in person and save on people having to pay to ship giveaways.
Maybe create a thread for each region and allow that ambassador to coordinate some local meets/contests/freebies.
I'm an Ambassador in the northern Virginia area (specifically around Leesburg). I've been most interested in BSA events, since our kids are Boy Scouts.
Subaru's still sending Ambassador stuff ... it's kind of crazy. Last couple of weeks I've gotten a personalized name tag, big window stickers and magnetic car stickers, an Ambassador Badge of Ownership ... and they're supposedly having business cards printed, too. They're definitely going all out on this.
Hmm. I got the name tag. They sent me another jacket and shirt along with a big box of "Drive" magazines and 2015 brochures. The magazines are tough, because they're dated/
This month will be 3 months since my initial "Shwagg Credit". We'll see how this next one goes. With no personal stuff to buy, I'll be able to stock up on give away stuff.
i handed out half of my stuff out already. when i was at work i had someone stop me asking about my car so i gave him a few things and then also at a local subaru meet i handed out some stuff.
still waiting on my jacket, sweatshirt, and whatever else im supposed to get
I got my "swag" order in, but still waiting for all the other ambassador stuff they send when you sign up, I think it has been a month and a half so far.
I still have only received the stuff I ordered as well. Hoping for the rest before the Boy Scout events really start to kick in, especially the week long camp I'm attending.
On Wednesday, July 1st, you will receive your next allotment of Ambassador Dollars, so you can re-stock on Subaru Gear. Your Ambassador Dollars balance will be reset to $150. Please note that unused Ambassador Dollars will not carry over.
Very nice ... I'm still waiting on their decision. It's been like 7 weeks if I remember correctly. I heard some people on here waited between 1.5 to 3 months ...
yes they do.
i have another package being delivered tomorrow from subaru. not quite sure whats in it, but its 25 of whatever it is....so im assuming its magazines
It took me several weeks before I received anything other than the welcome e-mail ... and Subaru doesn't tell you in advance that they're sending stuff. Once in a while, out of the blue, I just get a mysterious delivery notice e-mail from UPS or FedEx, and then it turns out to be from Subaru.
