    Story of your XV

So I've seen similar posts in the new owners introductions thread, but not one dedicated to the subject. So here we can post up what brought us to our individual XV ownership experiences! So on with my story!!
Let's start back in February 2011 when I decided to trade in my '03 WRX. As we know gas isn't getting any cheaper, so I went for fuel efficiency and traded it on a 2.5i 4EAT. Well wouldn't you know it the new impreza was intruduced a few months later, but it wasn't enough for me to trade out yet. Well come spring 2012 and I see the press releases for the up coming XV and in that orange!! I was really intrigued and waited somewhat impatiently for them to be released. I started calling my local dealer and they told me late October early November time frame. I spied a red XV at work on 20 October so obviously I now know they are out. I actually did wait a bit and called on 2 November to make the call to see if any were in to test drive. I called Evelyn (our salesperson we always go through) to see if any were on the lot. She said "yes we have two of them". She didn't tell colors, but at this point I just wanted to test drive. I wasn't fully commited to buying because my car was only 1 1/5 years old and almost couldn't justify it to myself. But then I go the next day with my lovely wife and there is the tangerine orange pearl beauty before me optioned the way I wanted!! We test drove it, and I was very impressed! It actually handled better than my 2.5i even though it sits 3.5 " taller! We go home and that's it. I had my brochure, but I really didn't try to sell my wife. Well here comes saturday the 3rd. I said nothing and my wife says to me "you might as well call Evelyn and get it over with!" So I call and all Evelyn says is "how soon can you get here?" "20 minutes" I reply, she says "the sooner the better!" So we go to the dealer and we start talking numbers and I realize it's more affordable than I thought. I come to find out that there were 3 pending appointments to view the orange one specifically. About 10 minutes into signing the paper work a family came in to see the orange too! This is in addition to the 3 other appointments!! Regardless, that car would've been sold that day, I'm just glad it was to me!!! Here I am a month later and I am loving this car more each drive!!!

    Great story Chris

For me, I owned a 2011 Outback which we'd bought new but I really disliked it.
I had no idea the XV even existed until I saw this ad...

As soon as I caught a glimpse of the orange my heart started racing! (I love orange and have always wanted an orange car!)
And then when the gorgeous XV flew out of the car wash...Oh my goodness!!! I knew in that second that car was MINE!

I immediately got onto the Subaru.com.au site and read everything I could about it. And when my darling husband came home from work he had a nice surprise...a happy wife hehe
2 weeks later I had my beautiful orange XV. That was in February, and 19,000km later I still LOVE it

I had decided to trade in my 2010 Dodge Ram Hemi as I drive over 100 miles a day and gas was getting to be quite a budget killer. Tried out a few competitors, was ready to pull the trigger on a new CRV and decided "waht the heck lets stop at the Subaru dealers for a look. Test drove a new Outback and Forester and was sitting at the salesman's desk doing the figures on the Forester when I looked out the windows and spied the Crosstrek sitting right next to the window. Asked about the car and the salesman replied it had just arrived, their first XV. Took it out for a ride and bought it on the spot. A month and a half and 4000 miles later I have to admit that I am quite pleased with the car. Would love a little more power and will definitely be updating the lackluster audio but can't help but smile every-time I pass a gas station (been averaging 31-32 mpg) and love the way it handles!

I was looking for a new vehicle that was gas efficient (14city/20highway BLOWS), AWD/4x4, standard transmission, and could tow my bikes to the track. Everything I looked at had 2 MAYBE 3 of the 4. I was all set on a Tacoma 4x4 until I decided to check out Subaru. The moment I saw the XV I knew it was exactly what I wanted. It has all 4 of the categories I was looking at and I personally think it's a good looking car.

I am coming from a MY12 Impreza Sport Limited 5-Door. I had factory ordered it, waited my time, and only had it for 4-months and loved it. Then on October 23, I was rear ended at a high rate of speed and she was totaled. I, and the individual who hit me were treated and released. Nothing major, aches and pains. Subie did what she was intended to do, and protected me.

I went to order again and found that they, SOA were running about 4 months out on orders. So, I searched the US. I couldn't find one in my exact configuration However, I did find an Xv with my exact configuration out at sea headed to the States. Dealer was a 1000 miles away, called them up made an offer on the incoming Xv and placed my deposit down on it.

I took the 1,000 mile trip 11/22; took a rental car and picked up my Xv on 11/23. Exactly 1-month to the day of totaling my Impreza Sport Limited. Now an Xv LTD moonroof/nav owner and loving it...

Me and the wife went to the Orange County Car Show in search of a car to replace our gas-guzzling Chevy Suburban. We had no intention of even looking at the Subarus, until we saw a Subaru Impreza hatchback that really caught our eye. A week later I ran into my brother in law, and he told me he bought a new car. To my complete surprise, it was a Subaru Impreza hatchback just like the one we saw at the car show. He told me about a new Subaru model, "cross...something or other". I went home and pulled up the Subaru website. I loved how it looked. So we started looking around. We really liked the orange Crosstrek XV, but at the time only one dealer had one on their lot. We settled for our second choice color, Dark Gray Metallic, since they gave us a pretty good deal. First time I've bought a car I hadn't even heard of two months prior to buying it.

    Cool

    My Shiny XV

I used to drive a 98 Corrolla....I work in Western Australia and due to a cyclone that was heading our way the crew were flown back to Perth until the bad weather subsided.
As we were on standby with some time to kill I ventured into Perth's Burswood Casino had some dinner and a quiet beer. I had a few games of black jack within a hour I had won a couple of hundred dollars. I decided to try my luck on the roulette with my winnings. Betting small I put ten dollars on the first dozen and another ten on the second dozen and continued to do this for about an hour. Betting like this returned $30 for my $20 outlay. As lady luck was on my side $10 chips started to grow and grow. Then my bets started to get bigger. That night I won a total of 16 thousand dollars. About a week later I was heading home to Sydney and booked a room at the Sydney Casino. When I got to the room the door wouldn't lock so I phoned reception and was told I would be upgraded to a suite which was amazing and tripple the the price of my old room. After having a bit of fun I had to give my system another go and off I went down to the roulette tables. 2 days later I had just over $20,000.00 in cash in the safe in the room at one stage I had nearly $30,000.00 but friday night I lost around $10,000.00 as I was getting around like I couldn't loose and betting on everything the casino had to offer. I checked out the next day and headed home. With the $16000 I'd won in Perth and the $20000 I had walked away with from Sydney I bought my new XV L Dark Grey. I'm not a gambler by any means and haven't been back to a casino since winning the money to buy my shiny XV.

I've had a 2002 Land Rover discovery for about 3 years. Had a 1996 Discovery before that. I'm a Rover fan. Replaced the head gaskets on it last summer. Then earlier this month the already poor mileage drops to around 8-9 mpg. Then the brake master cylinder starts to leak. Then the exhaust leak from the collector gasket starts. Again. Then the idler pulley starts to make noise. Again. And this, my friends, is my daily driver. Roughly $350 a month in gas. Then I price all the junk I need to fix. Over $1000 in parts alone. I've always loved Rovers but its time to give up on having one as the DD. A few of my friends have Subarus. So I start asking questions. Then I start paying closer attention to the commercials. Then I saw a Crosstrek. Then I saw the Crosstrek commercial. Then I saw the commercial in which the dad is talking to a little girl in the drivers seat of a Subaru and then she's a teenager. I have a six year old daughter and that commercial sealed the deal. The marketing guys for Subaru are geniuses. Guess what she will be driving in 10 years.

I went to the dealership. Drove the XV. The dealership was awesome and they gave me the deal I asked for on the first try. Picked up my black XV the next day and will most likely not own another brand of car. Wife has a Toyota Highlander and she is eyeing the Tribeca.

Very happy with my new car and the dealership experience. If you're in the Charlotte NC area and looking at Subarus go to South BLVD subaru and ask for Eric. And I never in 27 years since I've been buying cars have ever recommended a dealership or sales person. It was that easy and painless.

Wow, thanks a lot for this; I haven't seen the ad before, but it's one of the best ads I've ever seen (that, or I'm too biased ). You've made my day, thanks!
