    Fuel Filler Cap Retaining Clip?

    Hello,
One of the prongs on the clip on my wife's fuel filler cap broke. No big deal. It doesn't cause any issues with the cap itself. But she find it annoying that the strap always comes unclipped from the fuel door. I figured I would just buy her a new filler cap to solve the problem. However, after doing some quick searching, all of the images I am seeing for the filler cap just show the ring at the end of the strap (https://www.amazon.com/Subaru-42031-.../dp/B00L2OY5W2). As if you are supposed to use the existing retaining clip. So, I could probably go to Ace and get some sort of generic replacement part, bu I have always had bad luck with getting something the correct size for the hole. So I was hoping to just get the original clip, if possible.

Any ideas as to what the part would be for that retaining clip?

    Morning Tim

Looks like the part comes with the OE Filler cap, Subaru on-line parts

Check with Benny for conformation of this

Looks like Part # 42031FJ000 I believe the part you are after comes with the OE cap

    Have a great Day

you are actually talking about the sort of plastic rivet fastener that fixes the tether?

Correct, not the tether itself, but just the rivet / clip / retaining plug thing that actually affixes the tether to the car. The thing that goes through the hole at the end of the tether.
