  1. Hello Richard, hope you remember me I am Fred in New Mexico. From what I've read in the forum; your Canadian XV comes with HID headlights? I wondered if by chance others have asked you about that and if you knew what the cost of them might be? Or if not a dealer you recommend to me to contact to see about getting a pair for myself.
Hope all is well your way, all ok here. Thank you!
  2. Richard I juat got your messages here, thank you! I am kinda a bit computer challenged, but got them, thanks!
  3. I did a rough install of one of the MM6501 door speakers in my lt ft door. with out cutting the bit of platic from the door panel and it went together just fine, back on the door. I guess i am still confused about the trimming of the plastic in the door panel???? I NEED to do it, or not? Thanks for all your help!
I havre Dynamat coming this week.I'll keep you posted.

  5. I saw how they cut the door trim as well.... I didn't end up cutting mine as I believe that the speaker adapter had the correct height for the speaker.

I just had a quick look at the OE speaker and I can see why they cut the door trim... The OE speaker is actually inset a bit... and if you remove the speaker and mount the new speaker on top of that mount, the new speaker will be higher than the original OE speaker... That would mean that you would require to remove that bit of trim. I noticed that the grey foam on the OE speaker didn't have any indentation marks from the door trim that was cut out...

Besides, if it did, I wouldn't have been able to install the door panel back in place as the plastic support would not have been able to go back in.

BTW. Be sure to use the Dynamat on the door trim closest to the speaker. You only need to put some in the middle of the larger flat areas... that should cut down the vibrations in the door trim before it gets to the cup holders.
  6. Update on my speakers/installation.
I did order the adapter plates you suggested, cable adapters, and did order Dynamat and Dynamat tape. Got everything today except for the Dynamat panels. Did a check out mount of the right hand front door speaker, using the angled adapter you suggested. I re-installed the door panel, and didn't cut the small In some speaker installation pics online I saw one gentleman cut a portion of the door card needs to be cut down in order not to interfere with the speaker suspension. (The rear speakers will not have this issue) {at this post } http://www.scoobymods.com/showthread...ek-14244.html?

Did you have to cut the above mentioned car door panel for the speaker suspension to be free? I didn't take a close look down in the door panel but was able to install the panel with out cutting the bottom part of the door panel. It lookes like the speaker is ok...? Thank you again!
